Handing over Australian Flags to Ringwood Rotary for ANZAC service

On the 1st of April I met with John Ulrik and Steve Liston from Ringwood Rotary to hand over 750 Australian Flags to assust them with the ANZAC Day celebration event. Ringwood Rotary organised a special schools ANZAC service at Ringwood Lake on Tuesday the 6th of April.

Friday the 1st of April I visited the Lionsbrae Village in Ringwood to meet volunteers who help provide meals for thoise of need. Lionsbrae have for over one year run a volunteer run community lunch each Friday.

Planning the $200,000 of CCTV cameras for Ringwood

On Thursday the 31st of March I met with Ringwood Police, the Mayor of Maroondah City Council and Council representatives to discuss the installation of $200,000 worth of CCTV technology in Ringwood.  During the 2010 election I announced $200,000 to install CCTV cameras in the centre of Ringwood.

Opening of Ostara employment services with the Minister for Mental Health and Ageing

On Wednesday March the 30th myself and Mark Butler, the Federal Minister for Mental Health and Ageing, opened the national office of Ostara Australia. Ostara Australia is a not-for-profit organisation based in Blackburn that specialises in assisting people who have a mental illness or disability find employment.

On March the 16th I particiapted in the opening of the $10 million Flexible Green Trades Complex at Swinburne TAFE in Croydon. The Minister for Climate Change and Energy Efficiency, Greg Combet, was able to visit the site to open the Green Trades Complex.

$2.65 million building and renovation project completed at St James School

On Friday the 25th of February I visited St James School Vermont to offically open the Building the Education Revolution and National School Pride projects. The school received $2.65 million to overhall many of the school buildings and build a brand new facility.

Visit to the MEGT new trades training institute, Ringwood

On the 18th of February I visited the site of the new MEGT training institute at 251 Maroondah Highway in Ringwood. I met with senior members of MEGT including David Windridge, CEO, Kathleen Newcombe, General Manager of the Education Group, Linda Nall, Group Marketing Manager and Vanessa Hope, the Victorian Training Manager.
