Bulldogs’ home ground gets $250,000 Makeover.
South Croydon’s Football and Cricket Clubs’ home ground will get a makeover under a re-elected Gillard Labor Government.
Cheong Park Reserve will receive a significant upgrade under a re-elected Gillard Labor Government, Federal Labor Member for Deakin, Mike Symon, announced today.
“The Bulldogs’ club rooms are 30 years old and badly in need of upgrading,” Mike Symon said.
“That’s why I was determined to secure this funding and I’m proud to say that under a re-elected Gillard Labor Government it will be delivered.
“These clubs have a long and proud local history with the Cricket Club established in 1953 and the football club in the 1970s.
“This is great news for their players, supporters and officials.”
This commitment builds on Federal Labor’s investment in local sporting facilities, including:
- Re-building the Ringwood Soccer and Multi-purpose Stadium.
- Improvements to Glen Park Pavilion.
- Upgrading Heathmont Reserve.
Funding for this $250,000 contribution will be fully offset over the forward estimates, consistent with the Government’s commitment to return the budget to surplus in three years.
